Garrett works in both documentary and narrative film. He has worked in documentary programming for television and independently produced a feature-length documentary in 2008-2009. He currently makes music videos, produces corporate video, and films weddings with Aderyn Productions.
His long-term career goal is to revive the movie musical in the United States. He misses the films of Gene Kelley, Fred Astaire, and Ginger Rogers. His current dance film influences include the work of Carlos Saura and Jacques Demy, as well as the RKO and MGM musicals of the early and mid-20th century. Other notable influences include music videos and the musical films of Bollywood.
